Ayia grew up in Annapolis struggling with being overweight for most of her childhood. When she was 12, she started playing lacrosse and dancing, and the extra weight began to drop. Due to poor body image from the years of being overweight, she struggled with eating disorders through her teen years. While in college at San Diego State University, Ayia started training Muay Thai as a way to keep herself disciplined and to have an outlet for her anxiety. Loving the workout aspect and the team environment, she began to compete and fought in 3 fights. After graduating she moved back home so she could travel and begin her career in personal training. Ayia’s goal is to help people find their inner strength through fitness, so they can lead healthier lives for themselves. Using her background with recovering from eating disorders and sports training she hopes to help people in similar situations in their fitness journey.
