Born and raised in Bulgaria, Izabela Sage has always been fascinated with sports and physical fitness. Beginning at the young age of 6 she practiced ballet, parallel dancing, karate and a few years later started swimming at a competitive level.
She developed a deep love for swimming, however after competing for many years, a health complication forced her to stop. The news that she could no longer dedicate herself to her passion left her feeling defeated. She fell into depression and eventually, sought help through therapy.
While recovering from heartbreak, Izabela stopped all physical activity. She quickly felt the consequences of not exercising, including gaining weight, low energy levels, and mood changes as she continued to struggle with not being able to continue her passion. After some time of dealing with her sadness, she hit rock bottom and realized that it was time to make a change.
Determined to get back on track, Izabela started group activities including aerobics, step aerobics, and Tae-Bo. She educated herself on nutrition and overall, how to live a healthier lifestyle. Immediately, she began seeing and feeling the results of her dedication and became more motivated and confident knowing the work she was putting into herself was paying off.
While Izabela was working on her new and improved self, she began inspiring others around her, too. She knew her past experience and her new-found passion could help others who were struggling with similar woes and wanted them to know that if she could do it, anybody could. She started training harder, began covering classes, attending new courses like kickboxing and Taekwondo and even achieved her American Sport Association Certification. At only seventeen years old, her instructors who were amazed by her determination, asked her to begin teaching her own courses at the gym.
Fast forward to today, Izabela is studying to earn her NASM Personal training certification while working as a group instructor at Kicked Up Fitness. She loves her KUF family, feels inspired by her team and is happy to work in the field she loves.
Izabela is passionate, motivated, and anxious to share her personal experience and learnings, hoping to inspire others to live happier and healthier lifestyles.
